This Helly Hansen summer clothing review is for the HP Fleece Jacket, as well as the Skog T Shirt
Helly Hansen summer clothing
A Norwegian brand, Helly Hansen has its origins in marine clothing. But over the years it has forged a reputation for quality snow sports outerwear as well.
But over the last few years we have been reviewing their summer clothing lines as well. I love their casual but technical styling.
Helly Hansen HP Fleece Jacket review
The first thing I noticed was the stylish graphics. Especially the large embossed emblem on the back which at first is not obvious to the eye. As well as the Helly Hansen Silicon print on the sleeve that starts from the shoulder.
I am not normally into a lot of graphics on my clothing and like the designs to be simple, but the Helly Hansen HP Fleece jacket has that sporty but casual look that can be worn anywhere, and not look out of place.
They have an incredible range of 8 different colour schemes for this fleece jacket. I was reviewing the navy blue one.
I also like the weight of the jacket. It is not a lightweight jacket, but not too heavy either. I could easily fold it up and put in my small backpack. This was very handy when I was hiking in the French Pyrenees.
There is nothing amazingly technical about the Helly Hansen HP Fleece jacket, but it is soft to touch and very comfortable to wear without any skin irritation. It is also warm without being too hot, so ideal for those summer evenings with a slight nip in the air.
This fleece jacket is a great addition to the Helly Hansen summer range. My only criticism is that it is slightly on the pricey side at £90

Helly Hansen Skog T Shirt review
The Helly Hansen Skog T shirt is made from stretched polyester knit with wicking. This makes it super soft to touch and delicate on the skin. The T shirt is also UPF 50.
Part of the Helly Hansen summer collection, the Skog is technical enough for active sports, and casual enough to be worn anywhere.
There are many designs to choose from but I reviewed the Wrought Iro styling. I just loved the mixture of the slightly grunge base colour with sharp and dark HH graphics.
The Helly Hansen Skog T shirt is delightfully soft on the skin, but unlike similar T’s, it does not hug the body in an unflattering way. Another good feature is that it incorporates a high visibility logo neck tape.
I wore the Skog on a very challenging hike in the French Pyrenees, and much to my friend’s relief, it was not smelling of BO by the end of the day!
My only criticism is that it is not the most technical of T’s, but at only £28 I wouldn’t expect it to be and it is good value.
