Ischgl to the rescue : December snowboarding trip

Organising a December snowboarding trip can always be risky as I found out the hard way. But one resort I keep heading back to early season time and time again.  This season was no exception; it was Ischgl to the rescue!

No Chance Of Cabin Fever In The Highlands When There’s Snow In Them Hills

Snow.Guide Ski Editor Rob Stewart travels north by rail and road to reach Scotland’s ski slopes during the February half-term week and discovers that a Highland winter holiday is a breath of fresh air and despite the appeal of a cosy cabin, there’s no reason to hang around when there’s snow to be skied.

Snowboarding in Val Gardena

The last time I visited Val Gardena was during the summer where flowers of all colours decorated the lush green grass that carpeted much of the landscape. This time I was returning during the peak of the ski season and the Dolomites were covered with a thick snow blanket.

Snowboarding trip to Innsbruck

It is funny, I have never considered snowboarding in Innsbruck before.  I have been to Innsbruck many times but only passing through and never making it past the airport. I have always considered Innsbruck merely as a gateway to Austrian resorts such as Ischgl.  How wrong I have been!
