South Tyrol makes any skiers heart beat faster as it truly is a paradise for winter sports. You will find idyllic ski areas as well as huge ski centres. The region is characterized by breathtaking landscapes and great accommodation options for your holiday.
Ski Fun in the Dolomites
Above all, it is the breathtaking mountain panorama of the Dolomite Alps which makes a holiday in South Tyrol an exceptional experience!
The highest mountain in the Dolomites is Marmolata measuring 3,342 meters. Yet, also massifs such as Sella, Rosengartengruppe or Drei Zinnen offer stunning views. A definite highlight for skiers is Kronplatz ski resort because when you ski here you can enjoy a 360° panoramic sight of the Dolomite massifs.
The resort offers more than 100 kilometres of trails. Since more than half of the trails are marked as easy, beginners have plenty of room to practice and are not restricted to only few trails.
However, Kronplatz is still a great resort for more advanced skiers. For instance, real mastery is necessary to conquer the most difficult trails Hernegg and Sylvester leading from the summit to the Reischach valley.
If you prefer uncrowded places Ski Center Latemar is highly recommended. With only 40 kilometres of trails, Latemar belongs to the smaller ski resorts in South Tyrol. Yet, it is still offers varied terrain and it has something you won’t find anywhere near: Ski Center Latemar is partly located in the German speaking South Tyrol and partly in the Italian speaking Trentino. Thus, you may enjoy real Italian flair!
