Henry Off-piste

Sponsored Post: Three Days Off-Piste With Henry & His Adventure Team

Enjoy & learn about off-piste and back-country skiing and snowboarding
While most of the European Alps are seeing record snow depths this winter, there’s the temptation to push yourself further and further off-piste in search of the perfect glide. But with all this snow comes risk. Risk that you can learn to manage.

Based in Val d’Isere, Henry Schniewind is the founder of Henry’s Avalanche Talk (HAT) and he’s internationally renowned as the expert when it comes to off-piste skiing and snowboarding. If you’re hooked on perfecting your powder turns but you’d also like to learn to manage the risks, this three day ‘Henry Off-Piste’ course with Henry and his Adventure Team is for you.

Based around the simple question ‘Is it safe out there?’ this course encourages you to assess the conditions based on the quality of snow in addition to:

  • Decision making – where you go and when
  • Risk management – how you go down and up
  • Crisis management – being prepared to find your companion and get them out from under the snow in less than 15 minutes.

Feedback from previous courses:

Henry gave us not only an unforgettable day of guiding but absolutely invaluable real-world mountain advice. He managed to pack in the major essentials of his on-line video chats with expertly guided pow lines all day. Laid back and easy going, yet incredibly “on it”. I couldn’t think of a better guide!

In an recent article in The Telegraph newspaper Henry Schniewind was the only off-piste guide to receive a 10/10 rating. Read the article online here: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/travel/snowandski/france/val-disere/9876860/Best-ValdIsere-skischools.html
