Helly Hansen Balder Glove

Helly Hansen Balder Glove Review

This is a review of the Helly Hansen Balder Glove by Snow.Guide

The Helly Hansen Balder Glove is as quality as it looks.  The merino wool kept my hands warm at all times and the soft goat skin leather is beautiful to touch.

I must admit I don’t really get the need for the wool material on the back of the hand.  Maybe it is to give the glove a more edgy and urban appeal, but I think it would be better off if it was a complete goat skin leather for that more sophisticated look.

Another thing to be careful about is the sizing.  I am only 5ft8in and found the large size Balder glove to be a bit small for my liking.  I do think that Helly Hansen need to make their gloves for men a bigger size.

At only £75 the gloves are good value for money.  Not only are they warm, the Balder glove proved to have good waterproof qualities as they kept my hands dry, despite submerged in powder  a few times.

They are also easy to get on and off with the ergo pull tab and zip, but could do with being a little longer over the wrist.

To add to the warmth the gloves are lined with a micro fleece material.  The Balder Glove is ideal for anyone who suffers from cold hands.

My overall verdict is that the Balder Glove is a premium quality ski/snowboard glove for a good price that will keep your hands warm and dry.  The sizing needs to be improved as Large was a tad too small for me.  I think the gloves suit skiers more than snowboarders.
