Helly Hansen Gataga Prime Boots Review

This is a review of the Helly Hansen Gataga Prime Boots.  Are they the ideal boots to wear in a ski resort?

An alternative to Helly Hansen’s classic 6-inch boots, the  Helly Hansen Gataga Prime boots are made from full grain leather and soft suede.

As any skier or snowboarder knows, choosing the right footwear to travel to a ski resort is just as important as any gear on the slopes.

Being ski resorts, the paths and roads are likely to be snowy or icy and you have to be prepared for extreme weather.  Unless you decide to hide away in your hotel room for the whole trip, you will need to go out and brave the elements at some stage.  It is no good turning up at a restaurant or for apres ski with cold and wet feet.

You certainly won’t have this problem with the Helly Hansen Gataga Prime Boots as they are warm, incredibly comfortable and waterproof.

The boots also have a chunky rubber sole that does not slip on ice or snow.

I usually have to break boots in as they normally feel uncomfortable at first, but that was not the case with the Gataga’s. They fitted straight away and are easy to put on. The lacing is just right and easy to loosen to take off.

The boot’s styling is understated and stylish. It is the sort of boot that wouldn’t look out of place anywhere.

Easily the best boots I have reviewed for travelling to ski resorts!  Dropped only half a mark because they are a bit pricey at £150.  Having said that, they are quite often on sale at Helly Hansen.
