Helly Hansen Lilliesand Shoe

With a classic Boat (deck) Shoe look, the Helly Hansen Lilliesand is designed for high performance outside use.

The first thing I noticed when I un-boxed the Helly Hansen Lilliesand shoes was how light they were.  Weighing more like modern running trainers than traditional deck shoes.

I am usually size 9 with most trainers and found the Lilliesand size 9 to be just right.  They are very comfortable to wear and feel slightly springy in the step.

Although designed for most outdoor uses, these shoes are especially useful for any activities near water, as they have fantastic grip and traction if you are on a boat’s deck or on a pier.  Also, the outer layer of the shoe is made from a mesh material that is fast-drying.

Although ideal for marine activities, the styling, which is typically Helly Hansen, and the versatility of the shoe, means that it can be used for more many activities as well as casual use.

I really like the crew shoe look and the Helly Hansen logo is well placed on the side of the shoe, being prominent but subtle at the same time.

Aesthetically  I am not a massive fan of the mesh material but it is there for a purpose and does that purpose well as it drys very quickly after getting wet.

Helly Hansen’s heritage is in marine clothing, so as you can imagine, they really know their stuff when designing products that not only look good, but are technically superior  to most others on the market.
