InPiste recently held their Launch evening to showcase this new snowsports training centre based on the Luton Hoo Estate.
The launch event promised an evening to see world-class ski and snowboard simulators in action, meet their expert coaching team and discover how InPiste helps skiers and snowboarders of all levels refine their skills, build confidence, and stay mountain-ready all year round.
The launch was deemed a success and off the back of it InPiste have decided to run some open days to allow people to come and have a look at the centre and see the simulators in action – a lot of feedback, on the night, was how impressive the simulators were and how big the infinity piste was which they hadn’t been able to appreciate from social media or the website.

What is InPiste? A Year-Round, High-Performance Indoor Ski Training Centre
Accessibility & Convenience
One of the biggest strengths of InPiste is its year-round availability. Since the facility is fully indoors and does not rely on snow conditions, skiers and snowboarders can train regardless of the season. This means avoiding the unpredictability of mountain conditions and making skill development far more consistent.
Sitting on the Luton Hoo Estate, InPiste is also very accessible by road — it’s just a five-minute drive from junction 10 of the M1.
Cutting-Edge Technology
InPiste has two main pieces of kit: the Infinity Piste and the SkyTechSport Simulator:
- The Infinity Piste is a treadmill-style ski machine (by Alpine Engineering) with a conveyor belt covered in ProSnow® synthetic turf. The incline (14°–22°) and speed (up to 25 km/h) can be adjusted, making it suitable for beginners all the way through to advanced skiers.
- The SkyTechSport Simulator offers a fully immersive, VR-enabled experience with motion feedback, replicating different ski conditions (such as packed snow, slush, or ice) and course types (e.g., slalom, downhill).
Together, these technologies give users a very realistic skiing feel, with the benefits of a controlled environment.
Effective Skill Development
By training on the Infinity Piste, skiers can practice parallel and carving turns with real-time feedback. The system exaggerates any technical flaws, making it easier for instructors to spot areas for improvement.
Because the slope never ends, users can keep turning continuously for as long as they physically can, which is especially helpful for drilling technique — far more efficient than waiting for lifts or navigating long runs on a mountain.
Performance, Fitness, and Conditioning
InPiste is not just for beginners — it also provides a highly effective training environment for experienced skiers and athletes. The intense, repeated turns build strength, stamina, and muscle memory in a sport-specific way.
Skiers can maintain or improve their skiing fitness outside the season, without needing to go to the mountains.
Instant Feedback and Tailored Coaching
InPiste emphasises intensive, personalised coaching. Every 30-minute session comes with an instructor, plus 15 minutes before and after to brief and debrief.
Cost and Inclusion
InPiste aims to be inclusive: with half-hour sessions, the entry cost for snowsports is relatively low compared to ski resort trips.
By providing most of the kit (skis/boards, boots, helmets) on-site, it lowers the barrier for people who may not have their own equipment.
There’s also structured progression: lessons are tailored to individual needs (from absolute beginner to competitive athlete), making it a place where everyone can improve.
Community, Inspiration and Athlete Development
Based on InPiste’s ambitions, the centre is not just for recreational users: it also seeks to nurture the next generation of UK snowsport talent.
InPiste plans to host specialist clinics, school partnerships, and athlete pathways, making it a hub for both grassroots and elite training.
Having a venue where both families, hobbyists, and competitive skiers interact creates a vibrant snowsport community. The ‘Après Zone’ lounge area even allows guests to review performance data, chat with coaches, or relax between runs.
