Lange XT130 Ski Boot Review

Lange XT130 ski boot

I’ve been skiing on Lange ski boots now for almost twenty years, going through several of the race orientated models during that time.

This season, I’ve been using the XT130 boots – designed for all-mountain performance with a climb mode that makes hiking up steep and rocky terrain easier.

What I like about Lange boots is the way they respond instantly to your requirements. They are solid, but remain soft enough, even with the 130 flex, to provide some freedom of movement in the softer snow.

On-piste and at higher speeds, they feel like a normal race boot, but if you want to access some backcountry terrain or need to hike out after a long ski, then just flip the hike mode switch and it releases the stiffness behind the calf.

The high grip soles make walking feel more comfortable and on hard surfaces and even ice, you get more confidence as you take each step. So far, I’ve just used a foot bed inside the standard inner boot and this has worked perfectly well for me.

The foot bed I’m using is a CurrexSole EDGEPRO which moulds naturally to your foot inside the boot. This type of inner would suit most recreational to advanced skiers, but performance wise, it seems to work well inside the Lange boot.
