British Olympic Snowboarder Zoe Gillings-Brier Launches Full Time GBX “Learn To Snowboard Program” To Find The Next Generation Of British Snowboarders

This program has also been designed to allow young people (school leavers) the opportunity to travel and live in Europe in a team environment.

Zoe Gillings-Brier, Great Britain’s leading snowboard cross athlete has launched a new initiative to try and find the next generation of snowboarding stars.

  • 6 month on snow program running from 1st October until the 31st March in Austria.
  • Become an excellent all mountain snowboarder with skills in many snowboard disciplines. You will receive training in the following areas: Basic riding skills to give you a solid grounding to build upon, different techniques for riding jumps, tricks over jumps including grabs, spins and inverts (ability depending of course!) Rails, boxes, half Pipe, snowboard cross, off piste, powder, building and riding back country kickers, all mountain, carving, flat land tricks.
  • Highly experienced snowboard coaches including two Olympic coaches.
  • Opportunity to switch at no cost onto the GBX Snowboard cross program mid season (progression dependant).

Zoe Gillings-Brier, 4 x TeamGB Olympian and GBX director of new talent stated:

“The new “Learn to snowboard” program is a different approach to anything we have done before. Not only are we looking for potential talent, but the new program offers a specific opportunity to the younger snowboarders (16yrs plus) to gain vital life experience in a safe environment abroad. I travelled to Canada when I was 16yrs old to train and compete and I know first hand how daunting leaving home can be, not just for me but also my parents! This is a great opportunity to spend 6 months abroad in a general supervised environment with a group of other snowboarders. Ill be heading out along with everyone else on the 1st October for the 2018/19 season aiming for my 5th Olympic games.”
