GB Park and Pipe
At the last Snowboard Slopestyle World Cup of the season, GB Park and Pipe’s Jamie Nicholls ensured the team finished off the season on a high, finishing 3rd place in finals, and claiming 2nd place in the overall World Cup tour rankings.
Nicholls’ teammate Rowan Coultas, who had gone directly into finals after a solid qualification performance, finished 8th in the final, with Aimee Fuller placing an impressive 4th in the women’s competition. Matt McCormick just missed out on finals after finishing 11th in the semi-final.
Jamie Nicholls said after his third place:
“I am really happy to finish the season off on a high with a podium in the Czech Republic. I won here last year, so I am glad I was able to perform again and land my 1440. To get second on the World Cup Tour is amazing as well, a good end to the World Cup season.”
At the end of the most successful season ever for both GB Park and Pipe’s snowboarders and skiers, the team will now move over to Laax, to compete in next week’s BRITS, alongside the GB Park and Pipe Pathway riders.
After claiming 16th place at the Men’s Snowboard Halfpipe World Championships in Laax, Glen Ironside claimed another good result, finishing 10th in the Snowboard Halfpipe Europa Cup in Kühtai, Austria.
